Thanksgiving Break in Illinois

We headed home on Wednesday night for Thanksgiving break. The whole drive to Springfield, Cohan sang songs about Tayler and wanted to get there quick to see him! GramMo and Tayler were there waiting for him and boy was he excited!! There were trains and tracks waiting for him!

HUGS!!!

They would play with these two toys, and ram into each other in the middle of the kitchen. Cohan would hide out, wait until he heard Tayler coming and then run toward him.

Thursday morning, we headed to my dad's farm for Thanksgiving. My dad made Turduckin.

The boys loved playing outside. They roamed in the corn field and threw corn stalks into the field they helped plow.

Cohan is OBSESSED with Tayler. When it was bath time, he only wanted Tayler to help.

Of course he helped GramMo vacuum.

Cohan loves trains. He and I rode on one at the Festival of Trees.

The Friday after Thanksgiving is always the day, growing up, that we put up Christmas decorations at my mom's house. This year was no different. While we were putting up decorations, MeMo called and wanted to come and get Cohan and Tayler and take them for awhile. They went with MeMo to Aunt Missy's house to eat lunch and play with her dog, Stanley. Cohan LOVES dogs. Here are a couple of the pictures that Aunt Missy sent me from her phone! What a cool day for the boys to spend time with their great grandma and great aunt!

I was SO excited to meet Baby Dempsey Crow Stevens. I have been dying to get my hands on this baby since the day he was born. Colleen and Joe have a perfect little boy and Cohan wanted to take him home. So did I!!!

Anything You Can Do, I Can Do BETTER!!!

Every time that Scott or I do something around the house, Cohan wants to help. It can be loading the dishwasher, wiping the table, vacuuming, putting away laundry, or picking up toys.

Here are some of the latest pictures of our little helper...

Men and Beer

A couple weeks ago when I was in Wichita with my mom and sister, Cohan learned something new. Scott called me Saturday afternoon and told me that he had taught Cohan something new. I was anxious to hear about what it was since we were working on our colors when I left....

Scott asked, "Cohan, what are we?"

Cohan replied, "Men!"

Scott asked, "What do we drink?"

My sweet baby boy yells, "BEER!"

Here is the video we got when I got home. You'll have to pause the music at the bottom to hear.

Family Pictures

Better late than never...

Back in September, my sister, Staci, took our family pictures. Here are a few of my absolute favorites. We are so lucky to have someone so talented we can use!! Cohan wasn't feeling well that day, was running a temp and not himself, but she manged to get so many good ones!

Elmo and the New Potty

I have not posted in what feels like a long time. This weekend, I went with my mom to visit/help move Abby to a new apartment in Wichita. Cohan and Scott had a "guys weekend." They hung out, played with Cohan's cousins, and even visited a construction site with Uncle Mark, Mack, and Scott complete with a trip to McDonald's.

The weekend before was pretty low key. Cohan was not feeling well and stayed home from school on Friday. Saturday morning, he woke up feeling a little better, but wanted to snuggle. He has NEVER been one to watch television except in the car. He recently has had some interest in Elmo. More like an obsession. At daycare, they have Elmo toys and loves them. We had no idea until he started pointing out Elmo on his diapers and at the toy store. We got him an Elmo DVD. He loved it. Here are a few pictures of my little man snuggling and watching an Elmo movie...

He also got a new potty. He has had lots of interest in sitting on the potty. He talks about the potty. His pediatrician told me to get one and just let him sit on it since he was interested. We did just that. He loves to sit on it (with his clothes on). That night, we had some friends over and he wanted to show everyone his new potty. He was showing Aunt Meagan when he sat on it and did some grunting. Meagan said she thought he was pooping. Sure enough, he did. His first poop on the potty was fully clothed. We will take what we can get I guess. It's a start!!

Our Little Lion

The discussion about what to wear for a costume took a long time. I wanted something funny and Scott wanted him to be something that he could say. The lion won since he can roar like a lion.

I was worried that Cohan was going to hate wearing his lion costume because of the hood. Boy, was I wrong. He ended up wearing it to my school's costume parade (he loved the nose and whiskers that Alison drew on) and was ready to put it on when he got home.

He trick or treated at the few of the neighbors' houses. He made himself at home, invited himself inside and they all loved it. The Brandt's made special cookies for him, Bob brought out the puppies to play and let him choose his own candy and other neighbors had special bags ready for him. I will miss this neighborhood once we move!!!

My little lion.

Tried for some pictures. This was the best I could get. I bribed him with candy and a sucker.

Then Nanny and Uncle Mark, Aunt Beth, Mack and Avery came to visit!!!

On a side note, Scott and I went to a beautiful wedding on Saturday night. Cohan went to Mark and Beth's house and we had a night out. Thanks Mark and Beth!!!
