Today...

I just realized that I haven't added any pictures lately.  We had a busy weekend and I actually didn't take my camera to any of it!  We went to the farmer's market with friends, Cohan had a birthday party and then we had a Watson Family Sunday dinner for Nanny's birthday.  We also got to see cousin Mack who just got home from the hospital!  It was a busy weekend...
And then Monday came...
Cohan & Ireland had had runny noses, but Cohan's turned into a nasty cough.  Turns out he has croup, so he has spent two days with Nanny so Ireland and Sofia don't get sick at daycare.
He has done a lot of this on the couch...
Ireland on the other hand is a ball of energy.
She is trying to pull up on everything.  She stands up to her activity table.
She tries to crawl...
then gets easily frustrated...
and looks for help...
to get whatever she can get her hands on...
Ireland also loves eating everything.  Literally.
She has also made a new best friend in this process of feeding herself...
Happy Wednesday!!!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was one of those that I dream about.  No plans.  No where we had to be.  Nothing scheduled.  We could do what we wanted.  It's been too long.

What made it even better?  The weather.  It was cold, but not frigid.  This called for outside time and Ireland's first real wagon ride.  Cohan has been begging to ride with her.
Those eyes!!!
Determination...
"It's going to be ok, Ireland.  Don't be scared!"
If only I could bottle up this love and share it with them again in their teenage years...
Today, Cohan and Ireland had Maddoch and Malley over to play.
Now, finishing dishes, laundry and cleaning while BOTH KIDS SLEEP!!!  It doesn't happen often.  I might even sneak in a shower before we have dinner tonight with friends!!
Happy three day weekend!!!

New Wii

While we were home, MeMo gave Cohan her Wii.  He had been playing my dad's while we were at his house, so I knew he'd love it.  We have all the "gadgets" that go with the sports games so it makes it easier for him.  Here he is golfing and boxing.  Although his favorite it baseball.  He was so excited to get home and play it.  He's not the only one that has enjoyed it this week!!!
Thanks MeMo for an awesome gift.  We have all enjoyed playing!!!

A Life Celebrated

Wednesday, January 9th, my Grandpa, who was 98, pass away.

He went peacefully and was surrounded by family.  I am beyond lucky to have had him in my life for as long as I did.  He got to see me grow up, watch me fall in love, was there when I married my best friend and most importantly, got to meet both my babies.  I cherish the memories I have of him and will keep these pictures to show Cohan and Ireland their great grandfather that was loved by so many.
Here are some of my most favorite pictures...

Monday was the wake and funeral, and after spending time with our family it was with a heavy heart that we headed back home.  Being home in Illinois, celebrating my grandpa's life and being with my family was awesome, and I keep remembering one of the last things my grandpa told me.  He said we can't ever love someone enough and that my only job in life was to take care of my beautiful babies.  I will do just that.  Hearing all the stories about my grandpa made me so proud and made me realize Scott and I have a lot to live up to.

My promise to Cohan and Ireland is to surround them with good influences, keep people that love us close, show them the meaning of true love, provide for them, make them proud, give them kisses and hugs, tell them how loved they are daily, teach them about heaven and God, show them the meaning of true friendships, teach them to be honest people and more.  If Scott and I could be half the parents to our own children that our parents were to us and that our grandparents were to our parents, then we have done something right.

But this morning, before we rush back to work, we snuggled, we held hands, we watched movies and we took a half day to be together.  We came home to a freezer full of meals, and true friends that have arranged our meals for the week.  I see a lot of snuggles in store for us this week.

Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice."

Playing Hookie

Today we played hookie.

Alison's daughter and Alison were sick, so we stayed home.  It was Daddy Day Care this morning and I came home at lunch for the "afternoon shift."  It felt so weird to be home form work when I wasn't sick and the kids weren't sick.  We loved it!!  There was lots of playing and snuggling.

It was 'sunny' and 50 degrees here today.  The kids and I took a long walk.  I was pretty sore from starting back up with my trainer, so thought this would help.  It was nice to be outside, but we are so ready for it to get warm and enjoy our summer pool pass we received  from GramMo for Christmas!!!
Wearing our Irish gear for the Notre Dame game!!
For the football game, we decided to make it a homemade pizza night.  Our favorite!
Cohan loves to make his own.  He ate half of it tonight!

Another reason I was excited to be home today with the kids was because Cohan was away at the lake this weekend.  WE MISSED HIM!!!!  He had been asking to go, so Nanny and Papa asked if he could go with them.  He left Saturday morning and came home Sunday late afternoon.  Here are the pictures Jane sent me.  He loved feeding "Daisy", his duck.  The most excited thing, by far though, was the time he got to spend with his cousins.  He hasn't spent a lot of time with them lately, so he loved it.  He's luck to have cousins he calls friends.  We are still hearing stories!

Here's to another great week and some warmer weather!  Maybe even a park trip Friday.
It's supposed to get up to 60 degrees Friday before the temperature plummets again!!!
