Visitors from Kansas

Abby and Dujuan (or "Duh" as Cohan called him) came to visit this weekend. It felt like it had been forever since we'd seen Abby, so we were very excited to see her! This was our first time to meet Dujuan as well. We showed "Duh" all around Columbia...

After dinner with friends on Friday at Addison's, Saturday we were off to the Mizzou bookstore. Abby wanted Dujuan to be able to have some Mizzou gear to wear while in Kansas. Cohan loved the new student center and bookstore. There was lots of construction going on, so it was hard to pull Cohan away from the windows where he could see all the tractors!!!

All Cohan wanted people to do this weekend was sing a "Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, We're Going to the Moon." At the end of the song, you count down; 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... BLAST-OFF!!! Cohan loves to be thrown in the air!

Morning Play

To say it's been HOT doesn't seem to describe the weather here. So yesterday, before swim lessons, while it was still semi-cool, we headed to Abbey's house. She has two boys and was watching three extra kids (and she's pregnant). Where she gets her energy, I don't know. Talk about a lot of work. Cohan LOVED all the kids. At first, he just tried everything they were doing. Lots of parallel play. He wanted to try the bikes and tricycles. Soon, he discovered their play house. He played by himself before Anna joined him. He loved playing peek-a-boo out the windows and door! Then he saw the boys playing in dirt with trucks, and he wanted to join. My typical boy! All in all a great morning. Thanks Abbey for letting us play with your crew!

NEED vs. WANT

Have you ever had one of those days/weeks where it seems like the world is against you? Like anything that could go wrong, does go wrong? That is the type of week I a having. The oven broke, Scott broke the lawn mower, yesterday I broke the mower and today my camera quit working.

I was talking to my Dad today and venting; telling him everything that I needed. He said, "Heidi, the only thing that you need you already have in your house. He's a healthy little boy taking a nap."

When my dad said this, I realized he was right. Even though there might be a lot of things that I think I need, I already have what some want. I have a healthy baby boy, an amazing husband, a house (that I want sold), a good dog, a supportive family and friends that are like family. No matter how old I am, I guess I still need those pep talks from my dad.

Everything I could ever want; I have!

Jefferson Farms

This morning, we headed to Jefferson Farms and Garden with Beth, Avery, Macklin, Jane, and Meagan. This place is by Mark and Beth's house. Beth called and found all the information about it. It is a 67 acre facility that has gardens, farming, a pond with fish and animals for everyone to enjoy. Aunt Meagan and Uncle Jack's air conditioner broke on Sunday, so they got to spend the night. We were excited to have Aunt Meagan with us for the day!

Ready for our tour. Thank goodness they had golf cart tours. Even though it was hot, the breeze felt amazing!
