Only Around the Holidays

Around the holidays, I feel like you have to let some rules go. There are certain things that I normally would not let happen, but some rules are meant to be broken around the holidays.

Like...

Eating sugar so late at night.

Or so early in the morning...

Letting your house look like a mess just so you can make sure you spend enough time playing with your son and all his new toys.

Letting your stay in their pajamas and play with EVERY toy he got and make a mess and not care.

Only around the holidays!

Christmas with the Watson Family

Our last Christmas celebration was with the Watson family. This one is super fun because there are 3 little ones so close in age.

When we got there, we noticed that Cohan and Uncle Pooh (Jack) had on matching Polo pullover sweaters. Pretty funny. This was the best picture I could get.

Another exciting gift that the kids got were blow up ball pits. They look like ice cream trucks. They had a blast in them.

Everyone enjoyed all their presents. Again, feeling very blessed.

It is a tradition to do poppers with Scott's family. There are paper crowns in them. We tried for a family picture. This was the best we could get!

The kids all enjoyed dinner at their own table.

They all played so well together. They were very quiet for a long time back in their bedroom. When I went in, this is the mess I found. But they were having a blast!

Thanks for another awesome holiday celebration together!

Big Tractor I Ride

All Cohan wanted for Christmas this year was, Big tractor I ride!" When we cam home before heading to the Watson's, he saw his big tractor. He was SO excited. He also got a huge work bench (from my Dad and Chris). It was exciting to see him so excited about something he wanted to badly.

Since Christmas, all the toys have gotten LOTS of play time. This work bench, however, could be a favorite. He knows how to use the hammer. The drill has two different bits. He has learned how to take them out, replace them and use them correctly! Great gift Dad!

Christmas Morning - Again

For the past couple of years, we wake up Christmas morning, get ready and head to my brother and sister-in-laws house for brunch and exchanging presents. This year was no different. As soon as we were ready, we headed over. Of course Tayler and Cohan played while we made breakfast. Anything Tayler does, Cohan is right there trying it.

After breakfast, we went in to open presents. Immediately, Cohan spotted the train under the tree. My brother turned it on for him. Cohan would have been happy sitting there all day, watching and listening to the Choo Choo. Tayler thought it was hilarious and got out his phone to take video.

Then, it was time to open presents. Each year, my nephew goes to a children's shopping store. He has a list of who to shop for and how much he can spend. The parents have to wait in the waiting room while the kids do the shopping and the wrapping. They come out with all their gifts and it isn't until Christmas day (or when you open presents) that you get to see what they chose for you! We don't have one here in Columbia, but I will start taking my kids when they are old enough to do this. This is Cohan opening what Tayler got for him!!!

And more...

Everyone got great gifts and we felt very blessed.

Once we packed the Yukon and it was FULL! We were headed back to Columbia to see what Santa left for Cohan at our house and then to celebrate with the Watson Family!! We had an awesome time!!!

Santa Came!!!

Christmas morning, I expected Cohan to wake up, run to the living room and see all his gifts. Not the story. He went to GramMo's room, woke her up and took her to the kitchen to get fruit. He could have cared less about the little things Santa brought him at GramMo's house.

When he saw the chairs full of trains, tracks, books and toys, he said, "Wow!"

Then he played, and played and played.

Cohan couldn't get enough of his new trains, books and toys, but was anxious to get ready to see Unkie, Sarah and Tayler!
