Easter

Easter weekend we decided to head to Springfield.  This will be our last trip before Ireland is born, so it was a perfect time.  We were bummed that we didn't get to see my dad (he and Chris were out of town), but we spent lots of time with family.
I packed Cohan Thursday night, so we could come home Friday and leave immediately.  He took his suitcase to the door that night and yelled, "I ready!"  Think he was excited?!?!
Friday when we got home, my mom, Tyler (Unkie), Sarah and Tayler came over for pizza.  No good pictures, but Tayler and Cohan didn't stop playing!!  Saturday morning, we met my friend Colleen and her family (adorable Dempsey included!) for a yummy breakfast.  After this, I took Cohan to do some summer shopping and my brother and Scott worked in my mom's yard as a gift for her birthday.
After nap, Cohan was really excited to dye his Easter eggs.  I found a new recipe that didn't use vinegar on Pinterest.  I used Kool-Aid and it worked awesome and smelled fruity!
Aunt Abby even skyped in to watch!
Cohan loved playing with MeMo and GramMo!
Saturday night, we grilled out and enjoyed time together.  I loved watching Cohan and Tayler play.
My brother told me to hurry and get a picture.  I snuck in and caught both boys laying on the bed and Tayler reading to Cohan.  It melted my heart.  When they finished a book, they threw it and got a new one!
Sunday morning we headed to church.  Cohan did awesome through a LONG mass.  After mass, we headed to MeMo's for brunch, Easter baskets and an Easter Egg Hunt!
I wasn't sure how Cohan would do with hunting for eggs, but he ran out and immediately started collecting those eggs!

Cousin Time

During spring break, we tried to take all the cousins to a Mizzou baseball game.  We thought it would be cheap, easy and fun.  Mark, Beth and their kids came over and we headed toward the game, only to get there and find out the game time was moved up!
We all took advantage of having them together and in good moods and headed to Angelo's, a local, kid friendly restaurant.  After dinner, Avery, Cohan and Mack wanted to play in an empty booth.  They were too cute!  Then they got suckers and were in heaven (so was Aunt Meagan!).

You Get What You Pay For...

We are VERY lucky to have Scott's family and lots of our friends here in town that always offer to watch Cohan so Scott and I can do things alone.  Our anniversary was on the 5th and Betsy had offered to watch Cohan; however, with the house being for sale, of course, there was a showing.  We ended up dropping Cohan and Riggs off at Aunt Meagan and Uncle Pooh's house.  As Scott and I were finishing up our dinner date, I noticed a couple text messages from Jack.  Here is the picture and video I received....
Why, yes, that is three different choices of ice cream!

Still makes me laugh.

Tons of Trucks

Columbia doesn't offer lots of cool things for little kids to do.  But, that being said, one activity that we have gone to twice is "Tons of Trucks."  There are probably a hundred different types of trucks and tractors for kids to get in, discover, touch and (annoyingly enough) honk the horns.  Cohan loved telling us all the names of the trucks, but was a little skeptical about us putting him down and actually getting inside them.  We met Mack and Avery there too!

Spring Break Part 2

**Please excuse the pictures; they all came from my cell phone!!**
Lots of time during spring break was spent at the parks.  Cohan and I met friends, packed picnics and played a lot outside at local parks because it was so nice out!  I had to include this picture of his first (of many, I am sure) skinned knee.  If you ask him what happened, he'll say, "I up a tree real fast!"  What really happened was he saw a bunch of big kids climbing a tree and ran to try too.  He didn't even make it to the tree before he crashed and burned.  Good thing Aunt Kenley was there to the rescue!!
Thursday morning, Cohan, Nanny and I headed to the lake.  It was beautiful weather.  Cohan LOVES looking at boats off the deck.  I was surprised at how many were out!  People were even on wave runners and tubing!
Thursday afternoon, we met the Ramsey family at the Outlet Mall for a little shopping and lunch.  I love watching Cohan and Makenna.

Outlet Mall Fun

That evening, after Cohan's nap and the Ramsey's were done shopping, they stopped by the house.  The older girls wanted to sit on the dock, so of course Cohan and Makenna wanted to as well.
Friday, after more time outside, shopping and relaxing, Cohan got a haircut on the back deck while watching boats!  This was the calmest he'd been during a haircut.  I don't know if it was because of all the distractions, Nanny holding him, or just him in a good mood, but it worked!

Big Boy Haircut...  I am ready for it to grow out again!
Cohan loved the one-on-one time with Nanny and I LOVED relaxing and letting them play!!  Scott came down on Friday after work, and we headed out to dinner.  It was a nice little "get away" for a couple days!
Saturday night, we took Cohan to play putt-putt.  He was not at all interested.  There were go carts and all he wanted to do was watch those!  His favorite part was when Uncle Pooh and Aunt Meagan suggested ice cream after....
All in all, we had an AWESOME spring break.
Only six more weeks and Cohan will be a big brother!!!
