First Lake Trip of the Summer

It's was hard to type the word summer as a title to this post, as I still have two weeks of school left.  But, our first lake weekend of the season was a success.  We headed in Friday evening and the kids immediately began playing and making a mess.  After dinner, the kids were begging to swim.  I told them how cold it would be, but they didn't care.  Thank goodness they didn't need me in.
Saturday morning was really rainy.  The girls went shopping while the kids stayed home with the boys and played.  After lunch and naps, the weather cleared up and we went on a long boat ride.  Cohan and Ireland were thrilled even though it was a little cold.
This boy loves those binoculars just like Papa H and he's training Ireland to use them...
After dinner Saturday night, Uncle Pooh made snow cones for the kids.  They were in heaven.
Thank goodness Sunday was a beautiful day!!  We enjoyed a breakfast out and then spent the rest of the day on the boat, at a friend's dock playing and at the pool.
Ireland took her nap on the boat...
Sunday, after naps and before dinner, the kids and I wanted ice cream cones.
Only at the lake...

We have a busy next few weeks, so it was nice to have a quick weekend away.

T-ball, Mother's Day and a Trip to the Zoo

I have already gotten harassing phone calls (cough cough, Abby) about not keeping up with the blog.  I have been bad about it.  But, summer is coming which means more free time, breaks during naps and just plain TIME.  Time is something that is sacred around here lately.  With the weather being nice again, we have been outside a lot.

Another thing I will confess is I have been bad about taking pictures.  Really bad.  Like I didn't even take a picture on Mother's Day.  Forgot the camera today for the zoo.  You name it, I missed it.  But, the good thing?  I've been present with my kids.

So... here is a phone dump of pictures.

T-Ball is going really well.  Cohan has loved having people come watch him.  Two weeks ago his cousins, Uncle Mark and Aunt Beth came to watch him (of course I didn't take pictures...ugh!).  Last Friday, Nanny and Mrs. Alie and Makenna came to the game.  He loved it!!
For Mother's Day each year, we go to Strawberry Hill and get flowers.  This year was no different.  We spent the whole weekend outside and together.  It was perfect.
Ireland has grown fond of corn.
And then today, we headed to St. Louis for a day trip to go to the Zoo.  It was beautiful weather and we all had a great time.
The kids were really excited about the train.
Cohan loved going through the dark tunnels...
Ireland? Not so much!
Then we let the kids play in a beautiful park.  They two of them can be so sweet together sometimes.
