Spontaneous Chicago and Michigan Road Trip with GramMo

Unfortunately, my mom had someone she loved pass away who lived in Michigan.  My mom was going to go by herself to the funeral.  She and I chatted and decided to make a road trip of it with the kids.  We headed to Springfield on the afternoon of July 4th.  The kids and I loved going to MeMo's house to watch fireworks on the golf course and light fireworks with cousins.  I love how much they love each other.  I wish we lived closer so they could grow up as close as I was with my cousins!
Our first stop the next day?!  Chicago!
We stayed on Michigan Ave.  Cohan loved the Lego store and Ireland loved the American Girl Doll store.  She took one of her dolls, Rose, to the beauty shop where she got her hair done and a manicure and pedicure.
The martini bar in our hotel was awesome!
That evening, we took a horse and carriage ride throughout downtown Chicago.  The kids loved it!
For dinner, we took the kids on their first Uber ride to Rainforest Cafe.
After dinner, we headed to Navy Pier for a fireworks show...
Ireland was wiped!
The next morning, after an awesome breakfast, we headed to Michigan!  Our hotel was great.  We got to spend time with my mom's friends and then took a pit stop to an AWESOME water park before leaving.
We had such an awesome time and were exhausted.  Thanks GramMo for such a fun trip!!!
