Monday evening, after our first snow day, Cohan had gymnastics class. He still loves it!
Monday night, I spontaneously met friends out for drinks.
I was excited because I knew I was going to be in the house for awhile.
The next morning the snow started and it felt like it never ended. I shoveled the drive four times. The kids were really excited to shovel and play. We would get all dressed, play outside, come in and put our clothes in the dryer, drink hot chocolate and then go out and do it all over again. I laugh so hard at their snow outfits. Cohan is rocking a 2T too small snow suit and Ireland is wearing his old ones from when he was super little. They work though!
We did painting. Please excuse Cohan's wild hair. He had some serious hat head.
During one of the many trips outside, the kids wanted to sled. There were no cars out, so the kids and I ran up and down the streets. I'd pull one and the other would run after us. I was laughing so hard at them I had tears running down my face. They'd purposely would fall and cackle at themselves. Then, they wanted to pull each other. I loved every minute of it.
We also made home made chocolate chip snow ice cream. It's a real crowd pleaser. The funniest part is putting the bowl out in the morning and the kids running to the window to keep checking if it's full.
The best part of these snow days though, is the two of them playing together. For two whole days, the kids and I didn't leave the house (minus last night... I snuck out for dinner with girlfriends). It was awesome. They've played together, laughed together and had an awesome time. I keep finding them snuggling, or playing together and it melts my heart.
We've also taken care of LOTS of babies.
I've even been productive during nap times.
I've changed out the kids' artwork, painted a couple pieces of furniture and more.
Yesterday, it was so cold that after naps, they got in the bathtub and played for a long time.
I'd just keep refilling with warm water.
Another of Cohan's favorite activities was waving to the snow plows...
But, today, we broke free!! What a fun day.
Snow day #5 is tomorrow!!!
