Birthday Fun with Friends

Cohan loves going over to the Matz's house. Harrison and Henry are a ball of fire and Cohan loves to "play" with them. We went there on Wednesday night to celebrate Scott Matz's birthday. As soon as we got there, Cohan joined the boys in their room and began emptying toys to play with.

This picture cracks me up. Betsy is holding him and had just fed him a potato skin. It had sour scream and he LOVED it!

Happy Birthday!!!
The boys loved the homemade cake and ice cream that Abbey made!!!

These Boots Were Made for Walking...

I always said I would not be one of those parents that lets my kid out of the house wearing something crazy. Never say never. Cohan is OBSESSED with his rain boots. He gets in his closet and brings them out almost every day to wear. Usually it is just around the house, but we wore them out to visit his cousins and Aunt Beth the other day. The kid loves them. He has now figured out how to get them on himself (usually the wrong feet, but he doesn't care). Here are a couple of my favorite with him and his boots. I could start a book...

Schmidt Family at the Lake

This weekend we headed to the lake house again. My dad, step-mom, brother, sister-in-law and nephew joined us. My brother and I (and our families) have done a weekend at the lake for years. This year my dad and step-mom were able to join. So much fun! Cohan LOVES Tayler. Tayler just turned 8. He is a little "too cool" for Cohan, who is still a baby in his eyes. It is pretty funny to watch them interact. They both love to color on the windows. Once Tayler was finished, Grandma Chris stepped in to color with Cohan!

Boat rides!!

Cohan and the guys.

It was SO HOT on Saturday afternoon. Cohan loves boat rides and to look out at the boats on the lake. Once we got to lunch at Frankie and Louie's, Cohan needed something very cold to drink. We got him a frozen strawberry drink. He finished the entire thing!!!

LUNCH...

More boat time. Cohan found a permanent spot on Grandma Chris' lap.

Playing with "Unkie." Tyler named himself that.

Sunday morning boat ride to breakfast.

We had such an awesome weekend. I wish we could rewind and do it again. Hopefully we can make this summer weekend a tradition. But for now, my dad has been looking at places to buy down there. I'll keep my fingers crossed!!!

Mom's Visit

We had not seen my mom since we were home for the Family Reunion. Scott was going to golf Saturday morning, and then had a meeting all day Sunday at the lake for work. I called my mom and asked if she wanted to come and visit. She was here in time on Friday to give Cohan a bath. He loved having GramMo here!!

Aunt Beth and Avery got Cohan a new bath toy. We have a hard time getting him out now because he loves it so much!!

Saturday morning, we headed to the Farmer's Market and out shopping.

Cohan loves reading books!

When Cohan woke up from his nap, Scott was home from golf. We headed downtown to the sidewalk sales to do some shopping. We HAD to stop for a drink after! =) Cohan loved playing at the bar with GramMo.

Cohan also had his first milkshake...

COLD!!!

Everything just seems more fun when GramMo is there... including eating!!

While we had an Open House at our house on Sunday, we put Cohan down for a nap at Jane and Hiram's house. My mom and I went to look at houses and do some shopping. When we got back, Cohan was still was sleeping. Eventually, he woke up and loved having both his grandma's there.

Thanks mom for an awesome weekend. We love you!!!

"Appies"

Cohan only has 13 teeth. However, he manages to eat entire apples. Here is a funny video of how he does it.

Visitors from Kansas

Abby and Dujuan (or "Duh" as Cohan called him) came to visit this weekend. It felt like it had been forever since we'd seen Abby, so we were very excited to see her! This was our first time to meet Dujuan as well. We showed "Duh" all around Columbia...

After dinner with friends on Friday at Addison's, Saturday we were off to the Mizzou bookstore. Abby wanted Dujuan to be able to have some Mizzou gear to wear while in Kansas. Cohan loved the new student center and bookstore. There was lots of construction going on, so it was hard to pull Cohan away from the windows where he could see all the tractors!!!

Lunch at Quinton's.

All Cohan wanted people to do this weekend was sing a "Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, We're Going to the Moon." At the end of the song, you count down; 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... BLAST-OFF!!! Cohan loves to be thrown in the air!

Cohan loved eating Popsicles and listening to Aunt Abby read books to him.

Playing with Aunt Abby...

Cohan loved showing Abby his new 4 wheeler.

Lunch before Abby and Dujuan left.

Thanks for coming. We miss you already!
