When Scott and I first had Cohan, we promised each other that we would always take time away and do things without our kids. Even if it is just a dinner, working in the yard or a night away we have kept our promise. We love Cohan, but it is so good for us to have time away!!

This last weekend, we headed to Herman, Missouri for Octoberfest with my dad and step-mom for an awesome weekend away. I never knew Missouri had such great wineries. Octoberfest did not disappoint. We toured several wineries and microbreweries. Here are a few of our favorites.

The view at Oak Glenn was amazing. The trees were starting to turn and fall was in the air. Not to mention the AMAZING people watching. My stepmom, Chris, packed a picnic basket full of cheese, grapes, bread, apples, meats and crackers. It was an awesome day.

When we headed in town, there were great German polka dancers, kettle corn and people sitting enjoying the weather!

People sitting on the hills.
After a great day, we headed back to my dad's camper (more like a hotel), sat around the campfire and relaxed. On Sunday, we woke up, made breakfast and headed to Stone Hill winery.

While we were gone, Cohan went to stay with Nanny and Papa H. On Saturday, Cohan went with Nanny, Papa H, his cousins and aunts and uncles to a pumpkin patch. They all sent me pictures to show me how much fun he was having!!

They had told us how awesome this place was last year, and we were planning on taking Cohan this coming weekend to get our pumpkins for our house. Cohan will love going there two weekends in a row! More pictures to come after this weekend. We will take him to the Pumpkin Patch in the morning and then on Saturday afternoon are heading to a friend's farm for wiener roasts, tractor hayrides, smores and more!

I LOVE FALL!!!

Hay Rides, Petting Zoo, Pumpkins and Football

Saturday, we went with the Keenoy Family to South Farms. It is a Mizzou research farm. They had an open house. There were tons of activities for kids, animals to see and Cohan loved every minute of it!

The second we got there, Cohan saw the pumpkin tent. He was off...

He wanted to find the perfect pumpkin.

Cohan liked the animals and all the golf carts everywhere. He pretended to drive Natalie and Caleb around.

There was a hay maze and corn maze. We attempted the hay maze. Natalie and Caleb tried to show him the way through. He liked staying at the dead end.

Cohan loves tractors. He was excited to take the tractor ride to the petting zoo.

There were trained border collies that herded sheep and ducks. It was so neat to see these dogs in action! They were amazing.

He left a very happy boy with the perfect pumpkin.

That night, after a LONG nap, we headed to the Hickey's house to watch the Mizzou football game with friends. Cohan loved hanging with all the kids. He and Ila were inseparable!!

Henry's Fire Truck Birthday

Henry Matz turned two on Monday. Yesterday, we headed to his birthday party at the Fire Station. All the kids got to tour the station, watch a fireman put on all his gear, and get on the trucks. Cohan loved it!

I thought it was so cool that they showed the little ones how they are still the same person with all the gear on. They told the kids (obviously Cohan was too young to get it) how if there was a fire, they shouldn't be scared of them.

The kids all watched thinking the firefighter was so cool. Cohan got a little freaked out with by the fire fighter with his gear and hat and oxygen mask.

Touring the trucks...

Happy Birthday, Henry! We love you!
