Our Favorite Holiday Celebrated!

St. Patrick's Day has always been a fun holiday with my big Irish family.  It is my favorite.  We try to make it home when we can.  It is a day to celebrate, drink and have fun with my cousins, parents and siblings.  This was Ireland's first time back for it.  She loved it!!  Cohan loved the parade and Ireland loved all the extra attention.  After starting at 9:00 at my cousins house for a large Irish celebration, we headed downtown for the parade and to meet my dad and step-mom!  Ireland and Cohan were loving the attention from GramMo, Bucko and Grandma Chris!!  It was SUPER cold, but they were held and snuggled the whole time!!  Halfway through the parade, Ireland was fast asleep on GramMo's shoulder and Cohan was still getting candy.  After the parade, we headed to my uncle's Irish pub for food, bagpipers and family fun.

The best part of this picture is the band aid on my dad's nose.  They were throwing beads and my dad got hit.  It was hilarious and someone around us only had a Disney band aid.  Awesome.   

 

 

 The next morning, our kids got to play at GramMo's house before we got back on the road.   

 

It was a perfect weekend!!!! 

Big Girl Eating Food!

Yesterday, we went to Cohan's 3 year doctor appointment and Ireland's 9 month appointment.  Neither got shots, so it was painless, short and sweet.  I can't believe how my babies have grown.  

Here are some of their statistics:

COHAN

37 1/2 inches (47th percentile)

30 pounds (45th percentile)

IRELAND

29 inches (90th percentile)

19 pounds 13 oz (74th percentile)

We had been giving Ireland small amounts of finger food.  It seems like we forgot when to start that!  Tonight, she had her first meal of real yummy finger foods.  She just wants what everyone else is eating and drinking.  She loved it...  

Cohan loved watching Ireland try to eat.  He really is a good big brother!

Cohan's Last Birthday Celebration

This weekend, my Dad (Bucko) and Step-mom (Grandma Chris) came to visit Cohan for his birthday.  He was so excited.  When they got there, he opened gifts, played for a little while, then headed out.  Cohan knows when Bucko and Grandma Chris come to visit, he gets to go to Bass Pro Shop with them... by himself.  They have done this each time they come.  He loves it.  Scott and I got to run errands with Ireland and we loved that too!  

 

After going out for lunch and drinks, we headed home for naps.  It was quiet.  Both kids slept at the same time and we got to relax.  After dinner, Cohan got the cookie cake they had made for him!   

 

It was an awesome weekend.  We look forward to seeing them again next weekend for the St. Patrick's Day parade in Springfield.  We are ready for a trip home!!
