It is no secret, we love birthday parties. This year, however, we decided to tone it down a bit for Ireland's 3rd birthday. Big parties are fun, but they are quick and forgotten at this age. My best friend, Betsy, and I decided to take Sofia and Ireland (who are one month to the day apart) to St. Louis for an American Girl weekend. Both girls got an American Girl Doll for their birthdays. My sister has wanted to do this for Ireland for the longest time. While she was in town, she gave Ireland her early present. Ireland was beyond excited!!!
When we arrived Saturday, in St. Louis, at the hotel, the girls were so happy. Sometimes I get teared up realizing how happy I can make one little person. Sofia and Ireland are so close. They get along like sisters and fight like sisters. I love that my best friend's daughter and mine are best friends.
After playing in the hotel room, opening a gift and adding some Frozen decoration to the room, we headed out to lunch to a place that had highchairs for their dolls. We had a great lunch complete with birthday sundaes! While we were at the mall we had to do some shopping!
| We are three!!! |
After some shopping and playing, we came back to play at the hotel and change clothes for our American Girl Bistro dinner.
Their posing cracks me up...
Dinner at the bistro was awesome. They treated Sofia and Ireland (and their dolls) like they were the most special thing around. The girls ate up all the attention!
They got gift bags with fun things for them and their dolls!
The night would not have been complete without swimming...
and presents!!!
I am so thankful to have made this early birthday celebration one that Ireland will remember.
