Lake Weekends and Girls Night Out

We love the lake in the summer. Even if it's just the four of us, we have a blast.  It forces us to relax and enjoy each other.

Bucko and Grandma Chris got to come for a weekend at the lake!!

Kids get to swim in clothes just because.  :) 

But, by far, their favorite thing is boat rides...

and playing at Carson and Caycee's house.

But, those weekends sure wear them out...

I attended the Gridiron Girls fundraiser at Mizzou a few weeks ago with a bunch of girlfriends.  We had a great time and made a night of it with dinner and drinks after!  Love these girls!

St. Louis Zoo Day

Betsy and I decided we needed a quick trip to St. Louis before summer was over.  We couldn't have picked a more perfect day.  It rained in the morning, stopped just as we arrived and was cool and overcast.  The kids had a blast and so did we.  We stayed from about 11:00 until 5:00 when the zoo closed.  

The kids LOVED the sea lions.  There was a zoo keeper in the area that taught them how to get the sea lions to chase them.  If I could bottle up the squeals of happiness, I would have.

After the zoo, we headed to Ikea for a little shopping and then an awesome little pizza place.  We didn't get home until super late, but it was a perfect summer day!

Basement Remodel

It's been a really slow process.  Finishing a hallway, bathroom and bedroom has taken us all summer.  Literally.  Here are a few pictures.  It is almost done.  We just have to have the electrician come hand fixtures and we are done!!

Runge Nature Park and Central Dairy

The kids and I made a Bucket List of things they wanted to do this summer.  One of their top choices was to go to Jefferson City to Runge Nature Trails and then Central Dairy for ice cream.  So, on Friday, after the last day of soccer camp, we headed to Jefferson City with Aunt Boo Boo (Betsy) and Sofia.  First stop... Runge Nature Museum...

After a long hike, we HAD to have Central Dairy ice cream!
