Last Day To Be 3 - A Class Party

Today I have off work.  Cohan wanted to go to school because he wanted to celebrate his birthday with his class.  His teacher invited Ireland and I to come to music and Jesus time with his class.  We were so excited.  But, maybe not as excited as they kids were when they saw Cohan's awesome Ninja Turtles cupcakes!
They sang him Happy Birthday and God's Blessings to You.  I love to see him with his school friends.  Ireland fit right in. Cohan took the role of big brother very seriously.  He was very protective and made sure she was ok.
For music class, they've been learning about hibernating animals.  They pretended to be bears, bats, snakes, frogs and more.  Ireland loved playing with the big kids.
Melt.  My. Heart.
I am not sure where the last four years have gone.  I wish time would slow down, but am so excited to see Cohan take on the world.  I always get a little sentimental before my kids have a birthday.  I keep telling Cohan to stop growing.  The other night, as I was reading him books in bed, I said to him, "Cohan, please stop growing up.  You're getting too big!"  His response to me...
"But Mommy, I'll always be your baby boy!"

So happy last day of being three to my baby boy!!!
We love you more than we could possible put into words.
We are ready to celebrate with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party tomorrow!!

Cousin Lincoln Turns 2

Cousin Lincoln actually turns 2 this Thursday, but his "Sports/Ball" Party was this past Saturday.
The kids had a blast!!!  Mark and Beth put a slide and ball pit in their living room and I don't think the five cousins left it the whole time.

Our kids were pretty intrigued by "Mama Kitty" that lives outside...
Happy 2nd Birthday Lincoln!!!  We love you!!!

Weekend in Springfield with GramMo

With a four day weekend (Friday and Monday off) ahead of us and Scott only getting off for two days, the kids and I decided it would be a fun weekend to visit my family in Springfield.  Since Friday was Valentine's Day, when we got home Thursday, we were spoiled by Scott.
On Friday, Cohan wanted to go to his class Valentine's Day party.  I totally understood and remember that.  Ireland and I surprised him and joined him at his party.  When we left his school, I had the car packed and we headed for Springfield.  Much to my surprise, they were getting five inches of snow and it was still coming down heavy on the drive as we got closer to home.

After a few stops to clear my window and lots of slow driving due to accidents, we made it!!  The kids were so happy to see GramMo!!!  That night we went to a Valentine's Day dinner at my cousin's house.  We had heart shaped pizza, drinks and desserts.  Nolan and Nora are very close to Cohan and Ireland's age and I love watching them play together.  It seems like they pick up right where they left off.  I also loved catching up with my cousin and his wife.  Nights like this make me wish I lived closer to home.
We all know Ireland is obsessed with her babies.  My mom has lots of Precious Moments and Ireland loves them.  She loves to point to them and then have my mom help her hold them.

On Saturday, my mom asked Cohan and Ireland if they wanted to go to Toys R Us to do some "looking around."  They were more than excited and came home with LOTS of new toys just because.  They are so lucky to have GramMo!
They also loved drinking out of new cups.  Even though my mom has gotten them all the cups they could possibly want, they like drinking out of whatever GramMo uses.
They also became a huge fan of the Olympics and cheered on USA...
Cohan and GramMo napped together.   This is the text I got... "See, we ARE sleeping!"
At least they had fun and snuggled for some quiet time.
We also went to lunch with my sister Clara and her girlfriend, Kat. Of course, they brought TONS of Valentine's Day goodies for the kids and new stuffed animals that my children will not let out of their sight.  I so wish these two lived closer.
Just relazin' on GramMo's bed...
Sunday night we went out to dinner with my brother, sister-in-law, nephew and Mom.  Since we won't be in town again until St. Patrick's Day, we celebrated my birthday at a Hibachi Grill.  I forgot how much Cohan and Ireland hated the fire part.  Fun.  Thank goodness for my mom.  She let me still enjoy my meal and drinks.
Monday morning, our plan was to get up and leave early so we could head to St. Louis.  We were going to make a day trip to visit my friend from college, Allie and her three boys.  Unfortunately, we woke up to an ice storm.  Literally, a fourth of an inch of ice on my car.  We had to cancel our day trip, reschedule, wait for the strom to pass and cozy up with GramMo until after lunch.
It was another long drive home, but we made it and were excited to see Scott.

Thank you so much, Mom, for such a fun weekend!!
We all miss you already.
