Spring Break So Far

Friday officially started Spring Break.
The weather felt great and as soon as we got home, it was outside and time to play!!!  These two are finally loving spending time together and playing and pretending and loving each other's company (most of the time).
Saturday, we headed downtown for lunch and a little shopping.
Ireland also asked for her first pony tail.
Sunday, after naps, we headed to the Mizzou boys basketball tournament.  The kids were excited to ride the bus to the arena.
Once there, they cheered on their Tigers with friends.
Monday, we headed out to have a play date with our cousins!!
Cohan has been working with his birthday present trying to get new pictures at different angles.
Tuesday, we had friends over.  While we made lunch, the kids asked if they could read books....
this is what that looked like.
And today, we met friends at Barnes and Noble.
The kids are getting ready to take a nap and I am off to Seattle.  I'm going to miss Scott and the kids like crazy, but words can not express how excited I am to see my lifelong best friend... MY SISTER!!!
I think this is the longest we have ever been apart.  Can't wait!!!

St. Patrick's Day and Time in Illinois

It's no secret that St. Patrick's Day is my favorite holiday.  Maybe it's because the traditions, the food or most importantly, the time with my family.  For several years, We've taken the kids to Illinois to celebrate with my family.  I remember when I was little doing the exact same thing.  I love this time so much.
When we arrived on Friday night, my mom had presents ready for the kids.  Lots of birthday presents for Cohan and lots of just because presents for Ireland.  My brother, sister-in-law and nephew came over for dinner and to play.  They brought presents too!  The kids were really excited about Skyping Aunt Abby! My kids cherish this time with my mom and I love watching their relationships grow the older they get.
Cousin Love
We started the day Saturday pretty early, meeting about 40 family members.  After a bite to eat (and a couple drinks), we headed downtown for the parade.  My kids loved this!
Scott took the kids home to nap and I stayed out with MeMo and my mom and bar hopped.  We ended at a place with LOTS of family.

After naps, we headed to my uncle's Irish pub for dinner with everyone.  What a fun day!!!

Sunday, Ireland woke up a little off.  She had a nasty cough and just wanted to snuggle.  The kids were so excited about seeing Bucko and Grandma Chris that she didn't care.  Usually they do the parade and downtown with us, but because of her broken foot, they opted out this year. Cohan was excited to open his birthday presents and Ireland was thrilled she got more just because presents.
All in all, it was such a fun weekend.
Monday, Scott made a healthier version on corned beef and cabbage while I took Cohan to gymnastics and Cohan is enjoying his new chore of cleaning the table after dinner.  Since being home, Ireland has been home all week. She had a horrible cough, an on and off again temperature and throwing up.  Poor girl.  Thank God for Nanny!! She watched her all week (except Wednesday when she tried to go to school).  I loved the pictures we got!
I know this is a really late post, but this past week was crazy busy.
Now... on to spring break!!
