The kids and I got back Friday night from our little trip. Saturday was the last "work day" before we listed our house. Scott went and got mulch and we spread it. The kids decided they would help. Cohan is really becoming quite the little worker.
I really can't quite explain the pride I feel looking at our house. It has transformed into our home. We've completely changed every room of this house. When I moved in, there was a basketball hoop on the wall in our living room. Jack and Scott lived together, and I was their roommate for awhile before Jack moved out. Scott proposed to me in this house, we brought both our babies to this house. Our neighbors have become like family. Every single inch of this home has memories that fill our hearts.
I became quite sad preparing this house for others to look at. I started getting really emotional about the possibility of it selling. But, Sunday night, our Realtor came over and we signed papers.
By Monday afternoon, our house was on the market. We had about three or four showings that first day. The kids loved going to Jack and Meagan's house for dinner.
Tuesday, we had more showings. Nanny and Papa H took us out to dinner. As we were getting in the car, we had an email that we had an offer. There were still showings, so we went to talk it over and wait to meet our Realtor. We couldn't have had a better offer. We accepted and asked for a later closing date as we didn't think this would have happened so quickly.
In less than 24 hours, lots had changed. We have LOTS to process. Our house is under contract. Our home that holds so many memories is going to be someone else's. Wednesday night we met again with our Realtor to look at houses. Then, Scott and I had a much needed date night.
We celebrated and reminisced.
We are ready for change. The house hunting is in full gear. We are ready to make new memories in a new home... we just don't know where that home will be. :)
