Ireland Turns 3!!!

One of my fears with moving was that we would have to move on Ireland's birthday.  I know she won't remember, I know she already celebrated her day with her American Girl Weekend, but this was still HER day.  As it turned out, we did move right smack dab on her birthday.

Thursday night we had to be out of our house, but didn't close  on our new house until Friday.  My dad was here helping move all day and got himself and us a hotel room for the night.  After packing, moving and cleaning (thanks Jane!!) all day, we were exhausted.  It turns out, carry out Chinese food, hotel swimming and relaxing were just what we needed...
When people say it takes a village to raise a child, we couldn't be luckier to have the village we do.  Our friends and family helped us so much moving and making Ireland's day so special.

After breakfast in the hotel, Betsy (Aunt Boo Boo, my kids call her) and Sofia came to get my kids.  She took Cohan to his last day of Pre-K and took Ireland for a fun day while Scott, my dad and I did lots of things for the big move.
Betsy took the girls to Chuck E. Cheese and Orange Leaf before taking a long nap to get ready to come to her new house!!
When Ireland came back to the new house, her cousins, all her grandparents, aunts and uncles were waiting for her!  Everyone brought something to help with her party.  Sandwiches, chips, dips, veggies, fruits, paper plates, balloons, and cupcakes... you name it, someone brought it. Her day really was so special, not because of us, but because of our family and friends.
After presents, she gave everyone hugs and thank-yous!
GramMo also brought Cohan some graduation presents.
Cake time!!
Thank you to everyone that came to her party.  We couldn't thank you enough.

Happy Birthday, Ireland Noreen.  You never cease to amaze us with your spunk.  We learn something new from you daily and your fearless attitude is contagious.  Thanks for making us smile and love you more every single day.  We love you!!  XXOO

Morning Field Trip with Cohan

Being a working mom is hard, but one of the hardest things is missing out on field trips and lunches at Cohan's school.  I promised him that I would go on the big end of the year field trip.  Little did I know it would be the day that we were moving out of our old house.  Scott and I decided to make the morning about Cohan and I attended his field trip.

We started out our morning with a breakfast date at our favorite breakfast place, B & B Bagels.  He and I enjoyed this time just to sit and chat just he and I.
I made a bribe with him.  He would ride the bus to Jefferson City to Runge Nature Park with his class, then I would drive him home.  This way we could stop and have ice cream at a local place.  The presentation was on snakes.  He even got to pet a few...
After this, his class and I headed on a hike...
We couldn't leave without a trip, just he and I, to Central Dairy Ice Cream Shop!!!
What a fun morning!!  I am so happy that he will be with me next year and I won't have to miss as much and might even get to sneak in a lunch or two with him.  He is growing so fast. I need time to slow down!!!
