Race and Chase

Life around here is a little busier than normal.  Ireland moves a LOT faster than she used to.  She has taken a few steps.  She is on the move.  She will be walking soon.  We think that she is just trying to keep up with Cohan.  They are best buds.  Being home for Spring Break has made me so excited for summer.  I can't wait to spend each day with them.  I love it.
Their new game is called "Race and Chase."  They chase each other and race around the house.
Both laugh so hard at the other.
While I was cleaning out Ireland's clothes, Cohan and Ireland got in their rocket ship and went to the moon. This plastic piece of storage kept them busy for 45 minutes!!

Craftastic Fail

Not everything goes as planned.  I get this.  But everyone was healthy, happy and ready to play today.  After the kids not feeling great, we have been lying low, but today, we had planned to go to a friends for a play date and then take our four kids out to lunch.

I woke up, had the diaper bag packed, teeth brushed, breakfast had been eaten, we were dressed and put together, crafts ready and we were in the car by 9:30.  That is when the barf explosion happened.

Halfway to our destination Cohan told me something smelled bad and then just started barfing.  Everywhere.  All over the car.  All over me (and I was driving... he was in the back seat).  Everywhere.  And as quickly as it started, it stopped.  He was completely normal.  He asked me where throw up comes from.  I told him his tummy when he was sick.  He let me know he was NOT sick and that we were going to his friend's house.

We turned the car around, canceled our play date and called Nanny for backup.  Scott was traveling for work and this was not a clean up that I could do quickly or alone.  Thank goodness Nanny was home and came over to play while I scrubbed the car, carpets, car seats and chairs.

Cohan was so sad that he couldn't play with his friend today.
He had worked so hard last night to make Easter shapes to paint...
So he asked Nanny, Ireland and I to paint with him and we loved it!!
Needless to say, Cohan is feeling great.  I have no idea what happened, but we enjoyed another day home today.  I love watching these two talk to each other and giggle.
And our ornaments look pretty good for Easter...
We are ready for our shopping trip tomorrow to the lake!!!

Dying Eggs

Well, this week is spring break.  Spring break that brought 9.5 inches of snow yesterday.  It also brought a sick boy and a teething baby.  Yesterday was spent snuggling our kiddos.  Cohan's temp got up to 103.8 and Ireland went through three outfits because she is drooling like a leaking faucet.
But today is a new day.  Everyone woke up happy.  Everyone slept in.  (Both kids are currently napping.  At the same time.  In their own beds.  THIS NEVER HAPPENS!!!)  It has been awesome.  So I decided to start getting ready for Easter.  We colored our eggs with crayons.
Then we began the dying process.  I HATE the smell of dying eggs, until last year when I found a recipe using kool-aid.  It takes a little longer, but the eggs smell awesome, they don't stain everything and they make pretty pastel colors.
When we were finished Cohan asked if he and Ireland could color a picture of the Easter bunny for the fridge.  Usually, we have this done by now.  He always has a picture on the fridge of impending holidays or things he has done at Miss Allie's house.  He asked for a wagon with eggs and the Easter bunny.  So, this mama got creative.  With a little searching on the Internet for idea, I took my sharpie and started drawing.  It might not be perfect, but our printer is broke so I drew something.  He was happy and cheered me on.  It is still a work in progress.  He keeps getting it off the fridge to add more...
I am feeling pretty craftastic so watch out!!
We have a play date Wednesday with two more fun things for our kids to do.

Picture Phone Dump

Here is the latest "Photo Phone Dump"...

A couple weeks ago it was BEAUTIFUL outside.  We enjoyed it, grilled out and played outside.

Both kids love looking at the fish tank at their doctor's office.
Miss Allie loves our kids.  She sends pictures to me all the time.  Ireland has loved the transition to finger foods with Miss Allie too!
On one of those rare days where it was nice out, Cohan, Ireland and Sofia had a "picnic" at Miss Allie's house.  They loved eating outside!
Sofia and Ireland are best friends.  They light up when they see each other, cry when the other leaves and hug and kiss each other all the time.  Listening to them "talk" is awesome.  I love that they get to be together all day at Miss Allie's house.  I also love that my daughter's best friend is my best friend's daughter.

I love everything about this picture.  Both girls are snuggling with Alison while Cohan is snoozing on the couch.  Our kids are so lucky to have her.
Cohan also has his best friend, Makenna...
