There are lots of traditions for holidays. But, one Scott and I started the first year we started dating was carving pumpkins. Cohan always has an opinion about his pumpkins each year. This year, he asked for Spiderman. Big order for a carved pumpkin... but Daddy got on Google, found a picture, free handed it and carved it. I was pretty impressed. Cohan however, was more interested in his nightly routine of helping me make dinner. I loved Ireland's pumpkin. It looks pink on the outside (pretty sure that's why she wanted it) and was bright green on the inside.
They turned out pretty cute.
Every year, we start our Trick or Treating at our next door neighbors, John and Becky's house. They are so good to our kids. We get our annual Halloween picture taken in their foyer each year. This year, they came to us because they had a church event. They had just gotten back from Europe and every place they go, they come back with too many goodies for our kids. They take lots of pictures, explain them to Cohan and he loves it. This trip, they back with awesome book-bags for the kids. Ireland's is white with cars, streetcars and buses and Cohan's is a cool double- bus. And don't worry... they were chuck full of things for each kids. Lots of treats, granola bars, fruit leathers, new teddy bears for both of them, a baby for Ireland, cars and planes for Cohan, and even some European chocolate for us.
For tradition sake, Becky had us come over and trick-or-treat and get our pictures taken...
This year Cohan wanted to be a Mizzou Basketball player. So obviously, Ireland had to be his cheerleader. They loved making it to the neighbors' houses and visiting. More than that, they LOVED answering the door for the trick-or-treaters at our house.
I even attempted to be crafty for Cohan's first class party. Mandarin orange jack-o-lanterns and orange pumpkin Rice Krispies.
It was an awesome Halloween!!
