Cousin Love

We have had lots of play dates this week.  We have kept busy and done something each day.  Twice this week we have hung out with the Watson Cousins.  Seeing Mack, Avery and Cohan play together is awesome.  I have been forgetting my camera, but this morning, this was too cute not to capture.  I wish I would have brought it outside as they played with all the toys.

On a side note: we went to Ireland's two week check up this week.
SHE MADE IT BACK TO HER BIRTH WEIGHT!!!
She is now tipping the scales at 7 pounds 13 oz. (45%) and is 21 3/4 inches long (90%)
This means in two weeks, she is up 6 oz from birth weight and grew 1 3/4 inches!
Tall and skinny... Wish I could say it ran in the family.  =)

We are headed to the lake house this weekend.  First weekend away with Ireland!!!

All Good Things Must Come to an End

Leading up to having Ireland, I was panicked.  I worried about every little thing; the changes for Cohan, arrangements for him while we were in the hospital, coming home after a C-Section, recovery, life with two and more.  Two things helped to ease my mind: my mom and Scott.

My mom came in town the Saturday before Ireland was born.  It was nice to have her here.  We did last minute grocery shopping, she got to see routines with Cohan that she would be taking over for a few days and we did last minute things.
Ireland has LOVED all the extra snuggles, kisses and help from GramMo.  Cohan has been spoiled rotten and loved having GramMo here.  Scott and I loved the extra hands and late night help!
Constant Kisses
Cohan and GramMo spent lots of time together.  From car washes, McDonald's trips to getting lost in the hospital; he loved it all.  Here they are painting bird houses for MeMo and GramMo.

Cohan learned to work my mom's phone better than her.  He loved finding tractor videos on YouTube and watching them with her.
Sunday was a hard day for me.  After two weeks, my mom left.  She was so helpful, an awesome listener, a go getter and one heck of an entertainer.
Thanks Mom for coming and stepping in to help with anything and everything that we needed.  I feel so much better and hope I'm as good of a mom to my two kids as you have been to me!  Love you!

Aunt Abby Visits

Friday, my sister, Abby, came to meet Ireland, visit, see my mom and play with Cohan.  It was also her birthday that week so we got to celebrate with her.  Cohan was so excited she came to visit and woke up Monday morning asking where she was.  Abby loved holding Ireland, dressing her up and snuggling.  Abby has wanted a niece for years, so Ireland was her little dream come true!!
I loved catching up, having dinner with she and my mom (NO KIDS!) and just being together.

Thanks for coming to visit Abby!!!  Come back soon!!  We miss you already.

Bucko and Grandma Chris Visit

Last week, "Bucko" and Grandma Chris came to meet Ireland.
Cohan was very excited about more people to play with!  He had been talking about seeing them for a long time.
In the morning, my dad made breakfast, read with Cohan then took him for the morning.  When my dad and Chris are in town, they like to take Cohan to Bass Pro Shop.  He loves looking at the boats, 4 wheelers and fish.  Cohan was more than ready to head out!
Here are a couple pictures they texted me while out.
Thanks for coming to see Ireland and for remembering that Cohan needed a little extra attention.  We have not heard the end of all the boats that "Bucko buy me!"

Best Big Brother

The first few nights at home, I said to Scott, "What have we got ourselves into?" Every time that Ireland would cry, Cohan would wake up crying too. The first two nights home, we had both kids in bed with us. But, one sound machine later and now life is good!
Saying that Cohan loves being a big brother is an understatement.  He is always checking on her, wanting to hold her, giving her a pacifier or stopping to kiss her.  I look at how he is with her and feel so blessed.  My wish is that he is always that protective older brother, just like my big brother was tome.

Cohan even brings her some of his toys so that she can "play too."  If she is on the ground, he makes sure to play by her so she can see too!
Helping Dad
Cohan has also mastered the 'finger in the pacifier' trick.  He even wants to hold her in the morning while watching cartoons so 'she can watch too.'
We feel extremely blessed to have two such awesome, loving, healthy kids.

Being Home...

Being home has been awesome.  Ireland is a little more "high maintenance" than Cohan ever was, but we are learning.  At first, she was a little confused about "night time."  She would cry from 10:30 pm - 2:30 am each night.  Scott, my mom and I took shifts.  After a couple nights of that, we have used her Woombie and a different bed and she's been much better.  She still has some fussy periods, but nothing like the first couple days.
We have tried to make things as normal as possible for Cohan.  He has LOVED all the extra attention he has gotten and all the big brother gifts people bring him!

Ireland had her first "bath" after a couple nights home.  Cohan was VERY interested in helping and watching.  He is such a good big brother!
After bath
On the Friday night after we got home, Mark, Beth, Avery, Macklin and Lincoln brought pizzas over for dinner.  Cohan still loves showing off his baby sister.  I loved watching Avery check out her only girl cousin on the Watson side.  Lincoln and Ireland are about three months apart.  They will be so close just like Avery, Mack and Cohan.
I have been bad about updating the blog lately.  I have lots of pictures still to share.  Here are a few of my favorites from the past week or so.
