Movies, Pancakes, Mizzou, Friends and Gymnastics

Friday night we watched a movie after Ireland went to bed.
Cohan found a new place to lay...

Saturday morning the kids, Betsy and Sofia and I went to a pancake breakfast to support the Ramsey girl's high school softball team.  It was fun to see TONS of my previous students that are now playing high school sports.  The kids loved running around with the big kids.  Cohan is now excited to go watch his new friends play sports at the big school.
Saturday afternoon, Ireland and I headed out to lunch with a couple of my girlfriends.  Scott and Cohan went to the Mizzou boys basketball game with Uncle Mark and Macklin.  They had a blast.
Thanks Papa H for the tickets!!
Saturday evening we had friends over.  Ireland put on a nice fashion show...
The game of race and chase is much more fast paced these days...
Cohan had told Bob how much his friends loved his fire hats.  Cohan mentioned a time he had friends over and had to share the four hats.  Needless to say, Bob brought over more hats.
Monday, Cohan started a gymnastics class with his cousin.  He was very apprehensive.  I told him he was going to love it.  After the class, he told me he was wrong and he and Mack had the best time ever!!!
He liked it so much we booked it for his birthday party this year.  Can't wait!

Siblings?

Text conversation between Mrs. Alie and myself this week...
Alison: Look at this big kid.
Me: Did you just find this picture of Cohan on your phone?
Alison: This is Ireland!!
Me: Wow
I seriously couldn't believe I thought this was Cohan.  It was crazy.  Alison said she had been seeing so much of Cohan in her lately, so on this day, she took off Ireland's pink sweater and bow to take a picture.  I can't believe how much they look alike.

People always say they look so much alike, but it wasn't until I got this picture that I saw it with my own eyes.  Here are the two of them at the exact same age...
Yup, they sure are siblings!

Date Night with My Boys

Cohan has been asking to go to a Mizzou Girl's Basketball game for a while.  We have gone to quite a few in the past.  Last night, there was one, but it didn't start until 7:00.  We decided to make it a date night with just Cohan.  He felt pretty special.  Every time we get there, he is a little unsure of the noise level.
This time, he saw the cheerleaders and decided it might be ok! :) Nothing a little popcorn and Sprite can't fix.  We had a great time.  He even asked to get his picture with Truman and cheerleaders.  However, when it came down to it, he decided to just watch from afar...
Thanks Uncle Pooh for watching Ireland and putting her to bed for us.  She had a blast and was asking for you when she woke up this morning!

Busy Weekend

Last weekend was really busy, but in the best way.  We got time with cousins and friends!  Friday night was filled with a little Ninja Turtles Parade...
Saturday morning Avery, Macklin and Lincoln came to play.  Cohan had been asking for them to visit for awhile.  They all got along great and played so well together.  We loved our time with them!  The three boys played trucks, trains and balls.  The two girls played dress up and and had a blast!
While the kids napped, our neighbors brought over late Christmas presents for the kids.  They were beyond excited when they woke up.  I've said it a million times, we are so blessed to have neighbors that we love and that love our kids.
Saturday night, we had friends over.  The kids got out pop-up tents Bucko and Grandma Christ got them for Christmas.  It kept them entertained for a long time...
Sunday it was BEAUTIFUL outside.  Scott pulled the kids in the bike trailer while I ran.  We went a few miles and the kids loved it.  When we got home, we played outside for a bit.  Neighbors stopped by and it felt like a spring day.  I am so ready for the cold weather to be done!!!
Sunday night, Cohan was pooped.  We tried pigtails for the first time on Ireland.  She loved it, but I think we will wait a little longer.  :)
Also a big deal at our house this weekend... Ireland learned to push herself on her scooter!!!  This was a very big deal.  She has been trying so hard and finally got it!!
Here's to another fun weekend!!

Winter Break Is Over?

Even though today is our second snow day and we haven't been to school since December 20th, I am still sad to go back.  I'm really excited to see my students and co-workers, but am super bummed about being away from my two kiddos.  Bright side... three days and then it's a weekend!
(Thanks for the positive, Beth!)

Our break has been super busy.  We have had play dates and activities everyday.  Yesterday was the only day of break that we didn't leave the house once, but did have friends over.  I have been really bad about taking pictures with my camera this break.  I made a vow to play and be present with both kids for break.  I loved it.  Here is a quick re-cap of our break.

It started a little sad with saying bye-bye to Toots.  Toots left a special message for Cohan and Ireland.  Cohan even got a little weepy that night saying goodbye.  Ireland still keeps walking around calling Toots.
We had lots of play dates with my best friend Betsy and her daughter, Sofia.  My mom got them BFF necklaces.  They were really excited to wear them together.
Lots of time with girl toys!!
More play dates at the Matz's house.  Cohan loves all the boy toys there and the 5 little boys to play with!  Ireland and Sofia like the baby toys.  Both my kids are obsessed with the two babies.
These 8 kids got to spend lots of time at each others houses!!
New Year's with friends...
Practicing his shot.  In underwear.
Cohan had a dentist appointment and Ireland had an 18 month check-up.  Both did awesome!
We went with Avery and Mack and Aunt Beth and saw the movie Frozen.
Such a cute movie and even cuter kids!
We had friends over for the Mizzou Cotton Bowl game...
Ireland learned how to take selfies (seriously, I found LOTS on my phone)...
More play dates and lunch dates...
Then, it snowed.  And was REALLY cold.  Didn't seem to bother Ireland.
She loved "sledding" down the drive in her Cozy Coupe.
We made homemade pretzels...
Ireland watched her first "princess girl movie" and this was her reaction the whole time.
I feel like maybe we have deprived her...
And we played LOTS of indoor games.
More play dates...
Snuggles on the couch during quiet time...
Hot chocolate...
Babysitting...
And my new favorite thing: Cohan reading to Ireland...
This was such a fun Winter Break!!
