O'Brien Family Reunion

On Friday morning after Cohan's last baseball game, we loaded the car and headed to Illinois for the O'Brien family reunion.  This only happens every five years.  The last time we had one, Cohan was so little!!  We have a LARGE Irish Catholic family.  I was excited to see them all.  Scott had meetings for work all weekend, so Abby and I headed out.
We first headed to Lincoln to see Bucko and the farm.  He had been doing an addition to the house and we were all excited to see it.  We went to lunch with him too.

Next stop, Springfield.  The kids were excited to be there and see GramMo!
Friday night was dinner with family and a swim pool party.  There were so many kids and my kids LOVED playing with them all.
Before heading to the pool, we went to my Mom's house to change.  My cousin Ryan has three kids, but the two oldest, Nolan and Norah are Cohan and Ireland's best buds in Springfield.
The pool party was fun too! The kids loved swimming in the dark.
The next morning, the girls went for manicures and pedicures.
Cohan opted NOT to have one.  :)
Saturday afternoon was another family gathering at one of my cousin's bars.  IT WAS HOT!!  Ireland and Norah didn't seem to mind.  They were two peas in a pod.  All the kids loved the bog bounce house too.
He is a picture of my MeMo and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  There are LOTS missing that didn't make it to the reunion this year.
This is only a small part of the reunion whole group.
Saturday night we all got babysitter's and went to my cousin Tara's house.  We had a BLAST.  I haven't laughed that hard in ages.  There were toasts for family members that have passed and lots of sharing of stories.  We even did a family tradition and voted in my cousin's new fiance.
I LOVE THIS BIG CRAZY FAMILY!!!
Sunday morning we all attended mass together...in a bar.  :)
It was a fun way to wrap up the reunion.  I took pictures of the stickers we all wear.  This is our order in the family tree.  MeMo is the 7th child, my mom is the 6th O'Brien grandchild, I'm the 29th great-grandchild and my kids are the 46th and 60th great-great grandchildren.
Thanks GramMo for an awesome weekend!!
