Wednesday, January 9th, my Grandpa, who was 98, pass away.
He went peacefully and was surrounded by family. I am beyond lucky to have had him in my life for as long as I did. He got to see me grow up, watch me fall in love, was there when I married my best friend and most importantly, got to meet both my babies. I cherish the memories I have of him and will keep these pictures to show Cohan and Ireland their great grandfather that was loved by so many.
Here are some of my most favorite pictures...
Monday was the wake and funeral, and after spending time with our family it was with a heavy heart that we headed back home. Being home in Illinois, celebrating my grandpa's life and being with my family was awesome, and I keep remembering one of the last things my grandpa told me. He said we can't ever love someone enough and that my only job in life was to take care of my beautiful babies. I will do just that. Hearing all the stories about my grandpa made me so proud and made me realize Scott and I have a lot to live up to.
My promise to Cohan and Ireland is to surround them with good influences, keep people that love us close, show them the meaning of true love, provide for them, make them proud, give them kisses and hugs, tell them how loved they are daily, teach them about heaven and God, show them the meaning of true friendships, teach them to be honest people and more. If Scott and I could be half the parents to our own children that our parents were to us and that our grandparents were to our parents, then we have done something right.
But this morning, before we rush back to work, we snuggled, we held hands, we watched movies and we took a half day to be together. We came home to a freezer full of meals, and true friends that have arranged our meals for the week. I see a lot of snuggles in store for us this week.

Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice."
