Christmas Morning

I read a quote a couple days ago that sums up our Christmas... I used to think being a kid on Christmas was the best thing ever, but it turns out having kids on Christmas is.  This Christmas was all about family and our kids.  To us, Christmas isn't just a day, but a season and we were able to slowly spend it with most of our family (COME BACK NEXT YEAR, ABBY!!)

We decided Christmas morning was going to be all about our little family.  I am not a person that will cry a lot at all.  But, each year I get teared up watching our kids run to the living room with excitement in their step.  This year was no different.
This is the sweetest gift.  Cohan brought this home for us weeks ago.  It is a present he made at school for us.  He decorated the wrapping paper and all.  It is a calendar with his sweet hand prints on each month.  He was so proud and excited to give this to us!
We let the kids go to the store and pick out something for each other.
They each loved the gift and were so sweet to each other.
We had quite the mess on our hands, but had so much fun playing with toys and just hanging out!
After breakfast, Ireland was ready to go out and test her new ride...
Our sweet neighbors came out to give the kids gifts.
Then, of course, we headed right back in to play with the presents!
We also put Ireland's new bed together.  She was one happy little lady.
After naps, we got ready for Christmas with the Watson Family.
My heart swells looking at these pictures.  I feel like the luckiest mommy and wife in the world.  I hope everyone had just as great of a time with their families!

Christmas Eve

This year for Christmas Eve, we hosted Nanny, Papa H, Uncle Pooh and Aunt Meagan.  Toots left a note saying goodbye that morning.  The kids had a slow morning watching Christmas movies and then were really excited to help cook and clean the house for everyone to come!
Last year, I got the kids (what I thought) were really cute shirts.  Scott let me know the kids would want to hurt me one day for putting them in these.  Good news?  Yeah, they fit again this year...
Even better news?  I found the old picture to compare...   :)
Our Christmas Eve table.  You can't see it, but the kids worked really hard on place cards for everyone; special pictures for each person were on each.
This girl is FULL of spunk and sass.  I have no idea where she gets it.  :)

While I was getting ready, Ireland asked if I would curl her hair.  Please note the little tiny curls.  So, obviously we have pretended to curl hair since...
The kids had wanted to make a birthday cake for Baby Jesus earlier in the day.  When I went to sprinkle Heath on the cake, Cohan quickly let me know it needed to be a cross.  So, after dinner, we sang Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus, candles and all.
The kids were ready for their annual Christmas Eve box.  They always get matching pajamas, a new Christmas movie, popcorn and hot chocolate.  They were excited and had only asked 4,751 times if they could open it.
Cohan and Ireland were ready for Santa!
