Time at the Farm

This past weekend, the kids and I took a long weekend (Friday-Tuesday) and went to Illinois.  We were excited to show off Ireland and have her meet the family there.  I was a little nervous about the car ride and how Ireland would do.  She was perfect on the way to Springfield, the way home on Tuesday... a different story.
One of Cohan's favorite things right now is tractors.  He can tell you every kind from all the books he has about them.  So naturally, he LOVES visiting "Bucko" and Grandma Chris on the farm.  Saturday morning, we got up and moving.  We picked up my little sister, Clara, and her friend, Kat and headed to the farm in Lincoln.
We first stopped at my Grandpa's house.  He had just turned 98 on Thursday, so we were excited to see him and have he and his wife, Opal, meet Ireland.  Cohan had a great time playing with him.  It truly is amazing the wit and personality he still has at his age.
This is a picture I will cherish forever; my grandpa with my two kids.  I know they won't remember this, but I will and I will tell them all about what an amazing man they had as a great grandfather.
After we left, it was across the street to my Dad's house.  He was on his new "toy" waiting for Cohan.  Cohan was not so sure about riding on the "tractor."  He really just wanted to watch Bucko drive it and pick up his balls.
We all just sat and watched...

Cohan was very excited to open presents that Aunt Clara and Kat got him.  He got cool new clothes.  His favorite being the Superman shirt and cape that he had to wear that day (and threw a fit when he had to take it off for a bath that night).

As we were finishing up lunch, we heard a plane outside.  They were spraying two fields over.  Grandma Chris took Cohan outside to see.  The little plane saw us and flew right over Cohan and my Dad's house.  He was so excited and just continued to wave and squeal.
When it was time to go (WAY past nap time) Cohan told me bye.  He did not want to come home with me.  He told me he wanted to stay with Bucko and Grandma Chris.  This makes me excited for all the little trips he can make to the farm like we used to when we were little.  He was asleep before we hit the interstate.
